Terms and Conditions

By creating an account or otherwise using genzpolitics.in ("GenZPolitics", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service. We record the fact and time that you accepted these Terms against your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the date of birth you provide is accurate and that you meet this minimum age requirement. We may suspend or terminate any account we reasonably believe belongs to someone under 18.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate registration information (including a working phone number, used for login) and keep it up to date. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission, or impersonate any person or entity.

GenZPolitics exists for political discussion, organizing, and community — used responsibly. In line with Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you agree not to post, upload, or share content that:

• belongs to someone else and to which you have no right;
• is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, or relates to money laundering or gambling;
• is harmful to a child;
• infringes any patent, trademark, copyright, or other proprietary right;
• violates any applicable Indian law currently in force;
• deceives or misleads the recipient about the origin of the message, or knowingly and intentionally communicates misinformation or patently false or untrue content with the intent to mislead or harass;
• impersonates another person;
• threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security, or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order, or incites the commission of any cognisable offence, or prevents investigation of any offence;
• contains a software virus, malware, or other harmful component; or
• is otherwise unlawful in any manner whatsoever.

We may remove content, disable accounts, or otherwise moderate activity that violates this section, with or without notice, and report content to authorities where the law requires it.

You retain ownership of the posts, images, video, and other content you submit ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant GenZPolitics a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display it solely for the purpose of operating and improving the service. You are solely responsible for your User Content and confirm you have the rights necessary to post it.

GenZPolitics is an intermediary under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and observes the due diligence requirements of Section 79 of that Act and the IT Rules, 2021, in order to be eligible for the safe-harbour protection they provide. Content posted by users reflects the views of that user, not of GenZPolitics.

In accordance with Rule 3(2) of the IT Rules, 2021, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address complaints about content on GenZPolitics. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and, in general, disposed of within 15 days of receipt (or within the shorter timelines the Rules prescribe for specific categories, such as content depicting a person in a sexual act or nudity, or impersonation).

We will remove or disable access to content within the timelines the law requires upon receiving actual knowledge through a court order, or being notified by an appropriate government agency, that the content is unlawful — including, where applicable, the 36-hour timeline under the IT Rules, 2021 for such directions.

We collect the information needed to run the service: your email, username, phone number, date of birth, profile details, and the content you post. We process this data as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and in line with the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 where they continue to apply. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to access, correct, and request erasure of your personal data, and to withdraw consent, subject to the exceptions the Act allows. You may also raise a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India if you are dissatisfied with how we handle your grievance. Requests can be sent to info@genzpolitics.in.

Part III of the IT Rules, 2021 (the Digital Media Ethics Code) primarily applies to publishers of news and current affairs content and publishers of curated audio-visual content. GenZPolitics is a social media intermediary hosting user-generated content, not a publisher of such content; to the extent we publish any editorial or curated content of our own (for example, official announcements), we intend to observe the Code's norms of journalistic conduct in doing so.

We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms, our content rules, or applicable law, including on the basis of user reports reviewed through our moderation process. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

GenZPolitics is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for User Content, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

You agree to indemnify and hold GenZPolitics harmless from any claim arising from your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [City, State], India.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in a new version date at the top of this page, and continued use of GenZPolitics after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
